7th Grade Families,
On Wednesday, September 20, 7th graders will be traveling to Galena to learn about our county & available resources, along with having the opportunity to fish. We will be gone from the middle school from approximately 9:00am until 1:30pm. All students will be touring the judicial building, old courthouse, and library. They will also be fishing on the banks of the James River at James River Outfitters.
We are excited for this opportunity and believe it will be a rewarding experience as they learn about our local history & government, along with connecting with resources & activities in our area. In order for students to attend, they must have permission given by their parent/guardian. Further, students that have permission to attend need to dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed toed shoes. Students will be on their feet and walking for most of the day.
I have linked the permission form below. The link is to give your child permission to go on the field trip. There is a second link in the form that takes you to a waiver form for James River Outfitters. Students are required to have a waiver on file with James River Outfitters in order to fish. For vehicle, you can just type bus for all 3 questions. If you have more than one student, please fill it out separately for each student. Finally, parents must fill out a paper permission slip from the library in order for students to be granted a library card. This permission slip will be sent home in students’ ELA classes. All forms should be filled out by Tuesday, September 19 at 8:00am.
