Every month, the Reeds Spring School District recognizes one non-teaching staff member as the Employee of the Month. January’s Excellence Award winner is Carrie Payne. She’s a paraprofessional at Reeds Spring Intermediate School and has worked for the district for 12 years.
“She is kind, considerate, good-hearted, caring, respectful, and amazing,” said student Libby Colman.
Colleagues praised Payne’s ability to form relationships with students and to make sure kids have the resources they need to be successful.
“She is a paraprofessional who does the work of a teacher, and then some, in order to make sure that the students she assists are prepared for Middle School,” said sixth-grade teacher Christy Essary. “Carrie goes above and beyond her role to support students and teachers and she can always be counted on for a smile and a word of encouragement when you need it.”
The district accepts Excellence Award nominations from students, staff, parents, and community members. You can find the nomination form on the district website, www.rs-wolves.com
