Every month, the Reeds Spring School District recognizes one non-teaching staff member as the Employee of the Month. November’s Excellence Award winner is Joyce Morris. She’s the kitchen manager at Reeds Spring Primary School and has worked for the district for 29 years.
“Joyce does her job well even under unpleasant circumstances,” said Judy Eye, the administrative assistant for the food service department. “She tries to look at the bright side of a situation and is the glue that holds her staff together.”
Since the Primary School is currently being renovated, students and staff have been moved to New Testament Church. This has created challenges for the food service department when it comes to preparing meals.
“They only have small stoves to cook food, but they cook for 200,” said high school kitchen manager Kim Meilner. “Joyce is a rockstar for keeping her kitchen running smoothly.”
