Reeds Spring Schools is partnering with a nationally recognized safety organization to educate families about the dangers of online exploitation and human trafficking. The Stop Trafficking Project will present "Be Alert"—a powerful and eye-opening session for adults —on Monday, February 24, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Middle School Auditorium.
The following day, Tuesday, February 25, the organization will provide age-appropriate presentations for middle school and high school students to help them navigate the online world safely.
What Families Need to Know:
🔹 Adults-Only Presentation (Feb. 24)
Attendees will watch a 27-minute film featuring the real stories of three students (ages 12 and 14) who encountered online exploitation.
The session highlights the hidden dangers of the digital world, emphasizing that online threats are not limited to big cities—they can impact any community.
Adults will leave with Top 10 Safety Tips and actionable steps to protect their children.
This is a hope-filled presentation designed to create an immediate positive impact.
"It is not enough for us to educate students; adults must also understand the big business of exploitation so they can engage in meaningful conversations with their children."
🔹 Student Assemblies (Feb. 25)
Students will watch the same video as adults—no inappropriate content or language is included.
The presentation does not discuss sex or sex education but focuses on online safety and the risks of digital exploitation.
Facilitators will encourage students to be heroes—helping protect themselves and their peers from online dangers.
This session is designed to empower students while offering a message of awareness and hope.
