Every month, the Reeds Spring School District recognizes one exceptional staff member (non-teacher) with an Excellence Award. January’s deserving winner is Karim Dawani, a behavior paraprofessional at Reeds Spring Middle School.
“He (Dawani) cares so much about students at Reeds Spring Middle School,” said math teacher Brandi Culp. “He finds ways to connect to students who are hurting and help them work through their emotions.”
This is Dawani’s third year with the district. Several colleagues noted his positivity and ability to connect.
“Mr. Dawani is always willing to jump into a class and give feedback to both the teacher and students about behaviors. His ability to help turn negative behaviors around and hold students accountable to high expectations without sacrificing positive relationships is impressive,” said Instructional Coach Dr. Allison Moore.
The district accepts Excellence Award nominations from students, staff, parents, and community members. You can find the nomination form on the district website.
